Pre-writing activities, clarification of thinking, organization and prioritization of information - all are enhanced by concept-mapping strategies. Whether in elementary or junior/senior high, all students benefit from learning this fundamental skill. Students' maps are a vehicle by which we can see how students are constructing information; whether we are generating ideas, problem-solving, story mapping or outlining - concept mapping is a powerful thinking skill.
