							<description><![CDATA[<strong>Event Date(s)</strong> Jun 04, 2012 - Aug 06, 2012<br \>Are you interested in teaching online, but unsure where to start, or are you already teaching online and want to enhance your skills? The Leading Edge Alliance, a partnership formed of nonprofits, universities, regional educational service agencies, and the Kern County Office Education, CTAP, has developed a certification program for K-12 teachers. The certification is a national program to prepare instructional leaders for online learning. Content includes building community, moderating discussions, supporting diverse learners, and implementing frequent formative assessments. Time to complete the curriculum is estimated at 10 weeks, including portfolio work, but will vary based on participants&rsquo; experience with the tools used.]]></description>

							<description><![CDATA[<strong>Event Date</strong> Jun 19, 2012<br \><p class="p1">De-mystify the integration of iOS devices (such as the iPad&nbsp; and iPhone) into the K-12 classroom environment through this interactive workshop. Content is geared to those who have used these devices and would classify themselves basic to intermediate users. The content will review iOS device features, deploying iPads for instructional use, tips for gathering and managing student data, collaboration techniques to enhance student performance, basic troubleshooting tips and exposure to applications that facilitate instructional best practice. The session is structured to allow participants to move beyond being users of iOS devices and begin integrating this technology into their instructional setting in order to increase efficiency of instruction and student achievement. While not required, participants are encouraged to bring an iPad.</p>]]></description>
